Keep digging. Parallax is hostless. He was no longer in any of the children here, all of whom were crying out for Superman's help. Parallax then enters Superman's body taking Superman as a host!

You can even see Parallax talking out of the children's bodies in third to last panel.

I'm digging? Irony at its finest.

While physically battling Parallax at the same time. Sinestro didn't get all bruised doing nothing.

He was shown bruised already when he appeared to fight Superman. Further Superman stated explicitly that he is hurt because of his fight with Hal Jordan, not with Parallax.

Nope. Sinestro looked far more roughed up after his fight with Parallax than before. You can see here how Sinestro looked right before and right after.

If straight up dialog from Superman can't convince you, nothing can. He looked exactly the same in the previous issue.

But whatever man, Johns already made the rule that the entities are near powerless outside of a host. Hence how even Atrocitus captured Butcher, Larfleeze captured Obiphidian, Sapphires captured Predator etc. Its not a low showing, it's how these characters are written from beginning.
