Woke up yesterday, with a presentation due for class. Got in the car and it broke down. By pure luck my wife was off for the day, so I could use the car and get to work. I left my 'sanity kit' behind in my car (deodorant, mouth wash etc, as I like to freshen up on the day, bearing in mind I am teaching).
Then informed that we had staff training for an hour after work, but 30 minutes after school had finished, so 90 minutes. Then one of the teachers wanted a meeting for half an hour and asked me to tweak my lesson (due next day, new slides, new resources etc).
Got back to my car and realised it was the battery that was dead. Called out recovery who said they would be an hour. They then argue for 20 minutes and say it was the engine, not the battery. I keep asking them to check the battery and yes, it was the battery.
But...despite giving my car details when I called up, they don't stock the battery. So, I drive to a store which specifically deals with and fits batterys after confirming they have it in stock. They spend 20 minutes trying to fit it, then another 20 minutes trying to fit another one. Then attempt to blame me, as it is 'the wrong battery' and give up.
I then am driving a car with minimal battery and go to Uni library to do the tweaks for the lesson. I'm so tired I forgot my card and have to go back home, I then go Uni and I am conscious of how tired I am, how stinky I am but complete the lesson and print off all the resources. Get home. Then realise I left my USB stick in the library, which I need the next day.
Got to sleep about 00:30. I really think I could have killed someone yesterday. Car started today and I just park on a hill now until the weekend.
Did you get to class, and did everything work out? It sounds like it was a bad day. Sorry to hear that.
