I'll admit this one made me laugh.

I don't think its as simple as that though, in the USA it has been ingrained into us since the creation of our country that we have the right...no the NEED to have these guns. At least on some level.

The same is not true of England...which has a much longer history where the peasant were not to bear arms and only the Nobles were allowed. It's much more ingrained over a much longer period of time I think that its "ok" that the public doesn't have access to weapons.

Not saying the USA is better...just saying this is probably "part" of the reason.

Yeah, I can't really get it, because of my upbringing.

America has it's own history.

They took the land by force from the native americans.

They used guns in the civil war to establish their independence.

They have been brought up thinking the average citizen is a paramilitary force and is in effect 'a soldier' and this is in the constitution.

The problem is, every person on here, probably thinks in a fight they could do alright. Due to the american's history with guns, a lot of people extend this to think that they are are combat orientated.

There is an understandable, if not legitimate concern that taking the guns away would make these people impotent.

Again, they don't need the automatic weapons, shotguns, rifles, pistols fine.

There is then a legitimate argument, I spent thousands on getting military grade weapons, I'm not just going to hand these over and that IS a fair argument. Any deal would have to re-compensate that party.
