So THAT'S how Matt "IamnotDaredevil" Murdock did it all those months ago!

Daredevil 017 (2017)

· Don't like the cover choice.
· WHY would Matt tell his secret to this priest (as the story device to explain to readers)??
· Ugh. Have to orient my memory to fit these flashbacks into the 8 MONTH GAP crap before this volume's relaunch started.
· "WHAT DO I KNOW ABOUT HOW THINGS LOOK?" was a great line.
· He was an EIGHT Millionaire?! Whoa.
· So, it sounds like Matt is bored and/or inconvenienced with his DD identity as public knowledge. He preferred the excitement and/or complications. Hmmph. Rich people and/or superhuman troubles, eh. We should be so lucky.
· How can he be so miserable with a woman like Kirsten in his life?
· Oh no! Typhoid Mary! ...huh... So much for that.
· So, moves back to NYC seeks out the danger and the drama but also keeps the boredom and inconvenience with his DD identity as public knowledge. Solution? Get back the secret identity. That makes sense. Not.
· He asks all the people online fans would suggest to fix his problem. He stops short of dealing with Mephisto. He ain't gonna stoop to Parker's level. And yet he asked the SON of Satan - a missed opp for a 'devil' themed installment if there ever was one. https://www.comicboards.com/php/show.php?msg=xmb-2017021723053821 Unfortunately, no one volunteers to help until he opens the door on the last page to see the surprise appearance and the shouldhavehadaV8 PURPLE plot pitch possibility!
· So, it's potentially a cool idea. There IS lots of kinks in the inferred feat (eg. including lots of book burning) but there's also precident in the kids power showing. Looking forward to seeing the deets next ish.
· The art was unfortunately only servicable.

This promo poster is quite "the hook"...
Battlin' Jack Murdock's kind of movie...

Help the Cancer Society and the Alzheimer Society.

-Like the style of the cover though not sure the point of him in the sky, too far away to have leaped there. One of those scenes that kinda looks cool but makes no sense given more than a second's thought.

-The priest makes sense to me. Matt has the Catholic background. Most of his confidants are too close to the core of the problem, that they should know he is DD but do not due to his machinations. The priest has the emotional distance, but the training and calling to keep the trust, and Matt is predisposed to think of and trust when looking for a confidant/counselor.

-I can understand the dilemma as presented here (I didn't read much of the run preceding this one). Staying at home and being house-husband/shut-in celebrity doesn't fit his style. Being able to make a difference in both the courtroom and as DD, bringing justice for people is his life's work. His identity being public means he cannot do either effectively and it makes those he cares about a target. Of course, there's another choice which is to find another way to contribute, to make that difference. That's the situation that many people find themselves when circumstances render obsolete their passion or what they tied their self-worth to due to job loss, illness, injury, etc. So, the criminal lawyer could have worked as a legal consultant and advisor amongst the poor, the immigrants, the homeless. Just not a criminal lawyer. He could have found ways to actually work within the legal system as DD: a private detective, police consultant, or actual police detective. But, this is a superhero comic and one working to get back to the classic status quo, so we're not going to get that.

- miss the days when Son of Satan was a straight up good guy with just a bad pedigree. You know, not that different from Shang Chi.
