I thought her first ongoing series was ok and was in the spirit of her glorious BTAS appearances. But once Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti got their mitts on her she became some piece of trashy roller derby catch phrase spewing Deadpool knockoff.

They've RUINED Harley.

There is something odd about Harley Quinn becoming such a comics icon ...

Harley Quinn was only created to be the sidekick of the Joker.

At the same time, she was a tragic figure.

A failed criminal profiler, she became obsessed by the Joker and freed him.

Then, she became a willing accomplice of his forfaits.

Paul Dini & Bruce Timm never intended her to become some kind of sexy punk antiheroic iconic Barbie + Tank Girl.

Currently, she is among the most popular choices for cosplays.

Last time I was in Comic-Con Paris, there were Harley Quinns everywhere.

It is odd because, since girls only choose her because of her current sexy appearance (especially the version of the Suicide Squad movie), they are not aware that she used to be a totally different character ...

Harley Quinn is not supposed to be badass, independant or a role model. She is supposed to be a neurotic villain intoxicated by her mad love for the Joker.

Now that I think about it, she is like Clarice Starling at the end of the Hannibal book.
