Exactly. As originally conceived she was co-dependent. That was like the whole joke.

She wasn't supposed to empower women. She was (let's be honest) an abused girlfriend who went back to Mr. J again and again.


Interesting side bit of trivia...this scene from Days of Our Lives is what gave Paul Dini the inspiration for Harley Quinn. (Dini and Arleen Sorkin were also friends in college)
