The Thing appears again in Secret Empire 6 for all you FF faithful that might want to know. It's a brief, altho inspiring, yet, ultimately futile moment. Here's the spoiler run down:

Ben's basically in 5 panels in the book. One's just his voice announcing his presence. Hawkeye has a whiny soliloquy about he and the rest of the rebels time is up because a resurrected Banner/Hulk is now on the side of Hydra crashing the gates and ready to destroy them all. Heroes and civilians alike. And Clint thinks he and the other heroes have it coming for being such abysmal role models. Has something to do with him killing Banner in the last major event. Thoughts like "how had we lost our way?" "Why did we do this to each other" "And so we closed our eyes and prepared for judgement. But not all of us"
Enter Ben Grimm.
"Well, lookit that. Finally....ITS CLOBBERIN TIME" as the only real hero left in the Marvel Universe has the stones to tackle a murderous, rampaging Hulk.
Its a very brief fight. As per usual when Ben goes up against the Hulk. Its a nice moment for Ben and maybe its even metaphorical for what the heroes in the Marvel U have devolved into under the current regime. For what its worth, the Thing does buy many characters, heroes and civilian populace, time to escape. I think. Its a bit unclear at the end as is Ben's final fate. I think he was just unconscious at fights end vs the Hulk. Whether he was left behind with the mountain that blew up is unknown as is the fate of those trying to escape whom were aided by Odinson at the end, too. Not worthy of the hammer my @ss.
I really do not know what's going on with this latest event. I bought the first ish because Ben was in it and thumbed through the next four completely unimpressed.
It goes back to what Hawkeye was saying before Ben save's everybody's unworthy butt
"How had we sunk so low? How had we lost our way? Why did we do this to ourselves? Why did we do this to each other?"
I ask myself this about Marvel all the time.

Gotta photoshop that soliloquy with someone murmering,"The hell? Bendis, Alonzo, Quesada. Everyone knows that."

Actually you can't complain IF you're buying it because your money tells them to go ahead and make more LIKE it.
