Despite slivers of optimism and teases here and there, I don't see any sign of the FF returning as a comic. This officially severs my patronage of Marvel, which, IMO is putting out nothing but crap, and has been for the last 5 years.

    Quote:
It's OK. I've found better indie comics that I really enjoy that are not overly politically correct or hamstrung by a cinematic universe. The FF will always remain my favorite but after the long hiatus, I've moved on.

    Quote:
I have almost a complete collection now of FF comics and trades up to the hiatus. It's a huge, complex and interesting body of work that will remain interesting for a long time to come.

    Quote:
I was at a creator event this weekend at my local comic shop. These guys loved the FF, and all things Jack Kirby, and were also dismayed by the lack of the FF. They also see that Marvel is simply not putting out quality these days, while DC has enjoyed a modest surge.

    Quote:
The truth is Marvel has abandoned the Fantastic Four as a comic and also its longtime fans. Marvel does nothing for me these days, so I don't plan on putting any money into Marvel.

As long as Ike Perlmutter works for Marvel it's illogical for any of us to expect the Fantastic Four to return as a title. We can invent reasons here or there but the real reason is Ike Perlmutter actively opposes the Fantastic Four title. He will prevent a new Fantastic Four title from relaunching. We have to wait until he croaks or quits.

So let's all wish him ill health and bad fortune.
