Right now I'm following exactly two Marvel books, Cable and Black Bolt. I plan to add Marvel 2-in-1 and the weekly Avengers title.
I've been waiting for a Black Bolt solo book for 40+ years. He and Lockjaw are the only Inhumans who really matter to me, and lo and behold, they both appear in this new series!
On the Marvel board we recently discussed Black Bolt and in particular the question of whether the reader should be allowed into Black Bolt's head. I came down on the side of YES, the reader not only should but must be allowed into Black Bolt's head, because otherwise Black Bolt simply isn't a workable protagonist, which would leave us with two choices: (1) do a Black Bolt book poorly; or (2) don't do a Black Bolt book.
The first six issues of the solo book found a way to let Black Bolt actually speak, using his vocal chords, without destroying everything in a five mile radius. The scenario that permitted this has played out now, so we're back to the silent king, but he has a sidekick with telepathic abilities, and I'm hoping this means we will continue to have a view into Black Bolt's thoughts and feelings. Already in this series I've learned how important Lockjaw is to Black Bolt. All these years and I never knew that.
Are you reading this book?
Nope. While I love Lockjaw as a character, my boycott of Marvel remains in place until they return the FF. I only buy Marvel that features FF members prominently. And then only on a "deemed worthy" basis.
In my re-imagining of the FF, Lockjaw would be a member of the FF - part of the greater FF team outside of the core four. I really liked it when Slott had Lockjaw come and stay with Ben. I always felt that Ben and Lockjaw were a great team and had a great friendship. Ben needs a companion other than Alicia.
