I was just reading about this myself. If anyone has the deep pockets for this it's Disney. It is a bit of a gamble in assuming the superhero market won't dry up.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I wonder if it would be in time to somehow tease the existence of the Fantastic Four in Infinity War. Wouldn't it be great to see it one of those end of credits bonus scenes?

The zest for MCU films may indeed wane to a point where they will be doing far less movies per year, but there will probably always be a market for kids in the way of merchandise and cartoons. That said, there is a plethora of stories and characters that can still be told from the vast storehouse of Marvel Comics.

I think the rise of the MCU has brought in a large number of NEW fans who had never read the comics, but grew up with the cartoons, thus have a lust for more films. The DCEU may not find its footing, but I hope that the MCU continues to give us more great films.

I may be in my 50s now, but I'm living out a childhood fantasy come true with the MCU.
