I find it interesting that DC is coming out with these two titles:

The New Challengers (same team idea as Kirby's, but appear to be three men and one woman) by Scott Snyder and Andy Kubert

The Terrifics (three men and one woman: Mr. Terrific, Plastic Man, Metamorpho, and Phantom Girl) by Jeff Lemire and Ivan Reis

Both are spin-offs from DC's Metal event and part of a fairly large new group of titles - eight altogether, including these two.

Was anyone else aware of these books? Curious as to the timing? Tempted by the concepts and creative teams?

"The Terrifics" was discussed in an earlier thread, and Challengers has always been known to share characteristics with the FF.

I personally like the dynamics of small, interactive teams, but these concepts are still radically divergent from what the FF is truly about, which is family.

That said, I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that other companies may borrow from the FF to make derivative works. It's a good concept.
