Whom would you like to see take over the creative reigns of a new FF book from Marvel's creative stable of talent? I am liking Zdarskey and Cheung much more than you and would give the book a chance if they took over. I do agree with you on a couple points. Primarily Doom kissing faculty butt in the flash back and I am not a fan of this separation thing affecting their powers, but, after decades of continuity and a definite shift from 60's-80's story telling to the present we are never going to get a perfect representation of the Four. Or any other Marvel character.

I like Cheung's art just fine, but somehow i doubt he's fit for a monthly ongoing book, as witness by the fact that he had a fill-in after two issues of this MTIO iteration. My problems have all been with Zdarsky's flat out mis-characterizations of the Fantastic Four. He's proven to me unfit to handle the characters for any long term.

As for who i'd like to see??? Yeah, I thought about it when I typed my last reply. Truth is I'm not sure which of Marvel's current crop of writers would make a good fit.

Mark Waid already had a run on the title. I'd like to see Jonathan Hickman return to the title, as Bleeding Cool's recent post hinted at, but I really doubt that'll happen.

One of the posters to this thread brought up the idea of Dan Slott. I don't know....I'm not a big fan of what he's done to Spider-Man over the past ten years (not withstanding Superior Spider-Man, which was pretty good). I happened to be re-reading the ASM issues that crossed over with the timeline of Spidey joining the FF during Johnny's absence recently, and while his grasp of the FF characters seems to be at least a step up from Zdarsky's current take, the tone of those issues seemed a little...light in tone for my tastes. It's ok for a one-off story, but I don't want that to be the direction of the book for the next 5-10 years.

I'll think about it....and maybe post a reply if I either come up with a good name, or if one of the other posters to this board reply with a name that sounds good.
