I picked this up while in a comic shop in LA. I was in Geoff Johns’ Earth 2 Shop just passing through and shop guy said it was totally an FF homage by DC.

Back home now and reading it. Yes, there’s three dudes and a woman. Metamorphic seems to represent Ben, Mister Terrific is Reed, Phantom Girl is Sue, and....ironically...Plasticman is Johnny I believe. There appears to be a Negative Zone parallel, and they are all in the role of explorers.

In short, many things that FF fans may find interesting. While MTIO is OK, DC is proving to be strategically superior to Marvel by seizing lost opportunity due to the FF’s absence.

I say check it out and see how DC does spinning the FF. If The Incredibles is on topic here, so should The Terrifics - when discussed in contrast to the FF.

I think the following is certaintly true:

Terrifics = DC FF

New Challengers = DC FF also

Sideways = DC Spider-Man

Damage = DC Hulk

I'm unsure about the Immortal Men but suspect they'll have an X-Men vibe, while the Unexpected, I suspect, will have a Defenders (Bronze Age) vibe.

I have all of these on my pull list.

I second the motion for some sort of divine dispensation to discuss the Terrifics and the New Challengers on this board. I think this community will be uniquely interested, as, in my opinion, there is no doubt whatsoever that DC is intentionally taking aim at a vulnerable Marvel in the sweetest of sweet spots, which is Marvel's ridiculous reluctance to publish the comic that marked their emergence into the history of the medium.

I mean, let's face it, I'll be reading the Terrifics and the New Challengers for no other reason than this: I'm an FF fan.
