Yes, Good point! I was so fascinated by the layouts I forgot to talk about the actual plot... that is indeed the New-52 Lobo inside the bottle, a part of Brainiac's gift to Larfleeze. Apart from being a wink from Robert Venditti It makes good sense, the Lobo being seen in Suicide Squad at the moment is clearly a seperate character than the controversial-to-some New-52 replacement. It is a clever touch to show that Brainiac's collection might also conceivably stretch to things other than just cities, that there might be curios in amongst it and other subjects he holds for research purposes. Geoff Johns used the concept in his Superman run circa 2009 when he had the little seen Creature Commando's rescued from their long absence after being found in Brainiac's ship, and as with Venditti here the idea would be a neat opportunity to show 'what happened' to some other missing or obscure characters who dropped out of sight and have been left forgotten, It's a fannish idea to be sure, but a fun one, for instance we might spy - the Hal Jordan/Parallax left over from Convergence, Superboy-Prime, Anti-Matter Man, Myrwhydden, Starman, Manga Khan, The Weird, Space Cabby, Shay Veritas, the Templar Guardians-of -the-Universe, a Sun-Eater, Solaris... Politics, Power, and The Black Panther. A Commentary On Wakandan outlook and Monarchy, By Jeffrey Kahan. Doctor Who - Nothing at the End of the Lane #4. The Official Shazam Trailer Has Landed... Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #41 - The Law and The General. | |||||||
