Yes, That's well remembered! An odd story that one as it rewrote Hector Hammond's origins and seemed to be setting something up with these Gremlin creatures that, in the end, went nowhere. I recall The Gremlins would reappear, last year, thanks to Robert Venditti. But Geoff Johns seemed to be introducing them as a means to give a more rational, and shared, origin to both The Shark and Hector Hammond. It seems like a fairly random idea of his, and not thought out, in retrospect it might have been more logical to replace The Gremlins with The Psions, and therefore at least have some better background reasoning to The Shark and Hammond, rather than these strange and bizarre newcomers who really had little of interest to merit their creation...
