While I'd like Hulk to be in his full-on Gravage persona, I far prefer having a three year old rather than a growling monster. One of my biggest disappointments following the release of the first Avengers film was seeing Hulk's personality regress to his Savage persona for the sake of serving as a tie-in to the film.

I've always believed that the Savage/Child-like Hulk would resonate greater with a wider range of the movie audiences if he was written like he was in the Roy Thomas, Len Wein, Roger Stern and Bill Mantlo comic runs. He's not this primal raging monster that smashes any thing or anyone because they are in his way, he's truly Child-like and is trying to understand this hypocritical world. I just never thought Marvel Studios would get the right writers to script him properly in order to show the depth of the character with all his subtle nuances. It's too easy to get the Savage/Child-like Hulk completely wrong, as most writers in the comics do.

Gravage Hulk is my personal favorite incarnation of the Hulk, because when written correctly, he has all the combined best qualities of both Banner's Gray Hulk personality and and the Savage\Child-like Hulk.

Written properly, any of these three Banner Hulk personalities could make for an exciting blockbuster film.

Hopefully, this more articulate Hulk will end up being incorporated into the comics once Banner inevitably comes back for good.

I thought Bruce Banner's Hulk was back to normal after Mark Waid's horrendous run?

He's?!? A Man-like MONSTER...an Elemental Force! He's?!? Indestructible! That's why you don't comprehend him!! And because he IS...Indestructible...the Battle Board will not tolerate him nor his INCREDIBLE abilities!!! Watch out for that Gamma-Surge - the WORLDBREAKER!!!
Gamma Ra the Assassin quotes Stan Lee - "The way I established the Hulk, the more he fought, the stronger he got...I assume at some point he'll get worn out, but NEVER the Hulk." Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine Oct 2006 issue - Proceeding Message from the CHURCH OF HULK!!!
