I'm only half serious with the thread title, but..

I'm starting to wonder if the curse of the Hulk isn't necessarily Banner's alone at this point. Before PAD came onto the title, no one wanted to write the title.

PAD's 2nd return didn't get the reception you'd expect from all the online comments (yeah, I know, never trust the internet..)

Pak was heralded as the next PAD by fans and like PAD, his return to the character has been starting to take a serious nose dive, especially as of recent.

Sure, a large part of it is internal politics, editorial mandates, working with writers who ignore your work, etc, etc.

I guess what I'm getting at is, does anyone else think it's partially the fans fault that no one seemingly wants to write the character? Are we too quick to turn on writers instead of placing blame on editorial where it largely deserves to be?

Add in the confusion of which personality/incarnation to write and it's easy to see why it's hard to keep a writer on the book. At least with the release of Thor Ragnarok, that problem will become a little less problematic, in terms of what Hulk will be in everyone's mindset going forth.

Anyways, just musing.. anyone have a list of writers you'd like to see take on the Hulk?

For me: Joe Hill, Matt Kindt, Jeff Lemire, Al Ewing (Contest of Champions), Scott Snyder, Gerry Duggan (another chance to do his own thing instead of wrapping up someone else's run)

We've never seen numbers for the main Hulk ongoing series be as low as this. Sure theres several reasons for this ... I dont wanna hijack the thread with a discussion some arent ... equipped for.

So focusing on Totally Awesome Hulk's first arc. Pak introduced a Hulk who was Cho-Hulk. At same time he also showed a Monster in the trunk Hulk. Who seemed to have intelligence/menace in his eyes. BUT when MITT Hulk emerges he's just a mindless Hulk. In addition to this, Pal hinted the real Hulk was buried somewhere in Cho's sub-conscious. There was the panels where Amadeus walked by mitror and thought he saw something (and it looked like reg/real Hulk to me). Hasnt been addressed yet since.

I'm not sure now that Pak had the right choices once we were past that first arc. And by time the book became halfway decent again the audience was gone!
