So here's an idea, and given Ewings love for addressing things in continuity..

    Quote:
Once upon a time (I think Hulk 2099? maybe What If?) there was a theory that gamma radiation affected each person differently based on their underlying psychological issues (Samson wanted to be a hero, Emil felt he was a monster, Jenn was an introvert, Sterns wanted to be smarter, etc) .. Which as an aside I liked and pissed me off when Marvel writers would just turn regular people into a Hulk Clone (IE: Busiek turning a country into a bunch of Hulks)

So with that in mind, maybe Ewing is working towards something similar with a supernatural slant?

    Quote:
Which brings me to Samson. Bendis mysteriously brings him back from the dead, and it's never addressed. We could argue Jenn was near death in Civil War 2 as well. Sterns seemingly returns from the dead all the time. If anyone can chime in with more examples that'd be cool.. The Abomination stayed dead/in Hell, but you could say Ross shot him with a weapon that surpressed the gamma regeneration factor or something.

I wouldn't mind seeing Samson return down the road. Similar to when Byrne brought him back tracking down Banner in an attempt to try a new cure. Except when he's found, Bruce doesn't want to try this new therapy method having achieved his own form of merging like he did on Planet Hulk. Samson being terrified of this new calculating Bruce, and calls in help in the form of Xavier and others who attempt a superhero version of committing him. Fearing him going too far they try to force a cure and address the underlying MPD issues presumably not pulling it off fully and resulting in a new change of Ewing's chosing.

Anyways, I just remembered the visual of Doc Green digging up Samson's grave and wondered if there might be a reason he did beyond the one given in the issue in question. It was delightfully creepy.

I don't have many ideas about this, except that I do want to see a proper return for Samson, and if Ewing ties it to some particular ability of Gamma mutates, it would be cool. However, I want the Hulk to remain unique among them all in many aspects. Ewing could explore that!

About the episode with Doc Green, I kind of felt the same: it was really strange.
