I still think it would be poetic if he were born in the tail-end of Imperial China and got kicked out of his ancestral home a few years after the Communist Revolution - so, say, born in 1921.

His rings mess with his physical age, and in any case his mastery of chi might affect it.

I think he looks a lot like Öndör Gongor



Mind you, his appearance has been pretty variable over the years, but generally there seems to be an attempt to make him look like some combination of Stark, the Devil, and a Savage.







So his appearance owes less to any realistic ethnicity than it does to the idea that he is the inversion of Iron Man, and hence looks like Stark blended with a demon, or perhaps Stark turning into Mr Hyde.
