    It felt devoid of stakes, because Bardas wasn't really threatening anyone other than Riri herself. I couldn't get invested because it was like, if she loses, then what? Then nothing in particular. It needed Riri standing in between Bardas and a little girl holding a puppy or something.


And that's the essential problem with this comic. It's all about Riri. She is not only the protagonist, she is the central axis of everything that happens in the stories. That's why I compare her to the super heroes of the pre-Marvel era. She is the paradigm of human perfection and doesn’t really fight to defend anything or anyone. And everything that happens in the stories only happens because she has to do something.
