    Quote:

I've seen enough stories where The Mandarin is trying to conquer the world or plunge it into war and chaos that I've actually been craving some small, personal, disturbing Mandarin stories.

To that end, in my roleplay-site stories Mandarin does stuff like steal a ghostbusters gizmo Stark built for the Nightstalkers, modifying it to torture souls, stealing Howard Stark's bones, and torturing Howard Stark's soul with Tony's modified tech.

I understand. You prefer the Mandarin to be the personal enemy of Iron Man, like Norman & Harry Osborn are to Spider-Man.

Still, it is your comment about Mandarin being the perfect aristocrat, barbarian, kung fu grandmaster, mad scientist ... that helped me realize that Mandarin belongs to the same family of characters than Doom, Magneto, (Heinrich) Zemo & Kang (NB : each of these characters, including Mandarin, are still unique in their own way).

So, if Marvel Studios wants to introduce a "warlord-scientist" in their MCU, they could do it. \:\-\)

[Edited] Nota Bene :
Also, just like Doom, Mandarin has a great amount of mystical knowledge and may attack a team of superheroes alone (Mandarin vs the Inhuman Royal Family).

Just like Kang, thanks to the Makluan starship, his scientific knowledge is far superior to the usual standard.

Just like Magneto & Zemo, he is a team leader (Mandarin gathered his own team of Avengers foes) ...
