I might be a little more upbeat if this was another show. But it is after all Legends of Tomorrow, the show that gave us... Series One.

I don't disagree. I watched Legends and it was... watchable up to a point, certainly a notch better than marvel's Agents of Shield which i gave up on after the first few episodes. Legends suffers from an existential crisis for me, lacking in a sustaainable format it was terribly uneven and cobbled together. I can't help but feel like this is a series that would have been better served by being branded with an identity something more definitive by which to give it more of a purpose - A Secret Six or Titans grouping would make more sense than 'Legends of Tomorrow', which means nothing. But at a 20-odd part series it quickly outstayed its welcome for me and I had had enough of the Vandal Savage plot early on.

The Justice Society are appearing as guest stars in this new series ans therefore, as with Smallville, you cannot expect much as the budget and limited exposure means they can never really be done justice. I imagine the Effects budget wouldn't stretch to Alan Scott, Jay Garrick appearing would confuse viewers of The Flash, ditto exclusion for Hawkman and Hawkgirl who already exist in the show, so on balance what we see here is not a bad selection as such. It just isn't ideal is all. But then, this is as much a budget necessity as anything else. With little money to realise another set of full-on Superheroes this lowkey treatment is par for the course on television shows...
