The latest issue places Frank as being a Vietnam vet once more, only a short time after Greg Rucka had retconned him into being a Gulf I vet.

Its probably just an error as there appears to be no good reason why the series wouldnt be in continuity. Personally I preferred Frank as a Vietnam vet anyway.

I think this series has been written a couple of years ago...2010, maybe, before Rucka did his retcon...

And I don't mind the retcon, personnally. To me, Vietnam was topical. It was the war going on at the time of Castle's creation. Sliding timelines are how characters don't age in real time. IRON MAN's origin was set in Viet Nam as well and that has moved on.

I know that Frank has been rejuvinated twice-angel crap and FrankenCrap-but, those stories have thoroughly forgotten and ignored, and thankfully so.

Also, before someone counterargues and mentions Cap and Fury: one has supersoldier serum and the other has Eternity Formula in his blood.
