The Rambo argument is a solid one.

Maybe Punisher could be retconned as the first of the Marvel vigilantes...Since the other heroes (except Cap and Fury and Wolverine...and Thor, probably...definitely Hercules) showed up "10-12 years ago"....

I agree with the Rambo argument, Frank is better as a Vietnam vet then Persian Gulf. unless they want to keep him a Gulf War vet and add that he also "was involved in military operations in small jungle countries" which would acknowledge Vietnam without actually saying it.

As to Frank being rejuvenated by Angels and Frankencastle/Bloodstone, the less said the better.

They are better off keeping him a Vietnam vet and simply stating that he was mystically rejuvenated a couple of times.

As to the Infinity Forumula, Mockingbird and Bucky and Nick Fury Jr all have it in their blood now and supposedly their is no more of it hence Fury Sr. may soon age and die (garbage), but would Frank getting some of the Formula be a bad thing? It doesn't make you a super soldier like Cap, you get some minor enhancements yes, but its main thing is that it slows down your aging.
