Reply Subj: Were 2008-2009's "War of Kings" comics any good?

I was thinking of getting into Darkhawk more, and while searching for his comics online, I found that he also had 2 tie-in comics to "War of Kings," which I don't recall knowing about (maybe forgot). Is War of Kings worth getting, the 2 Darkhawk tie-in issues and/or the War of Kings comics themselves?

I thought War of Kings was that rare comic book event that was really really good. If you hate the concept of Vulcan (and I kinda do) I can see you not liking the event but I put that aside because there was a lot in this crossover to like IMO. The main series was good (great art). The War of Kings Darkhawk issues were ok. The War of Kings Ascension limited series (a bonus Darkhawk series!) was really good with great art IMO. The War of Kings Who Will Rule one shot was good. The Guardians of the Galaxy tie in issues are good. I even liked the X-Men related stuff because of the return of a long dead enemy of the X-Men whose sisters always get more attention but I like the brother best anyways.

That said the follow up event Realm of Kings was pretty crappy overall BUT I enjoyed the Nova and GotG tie in issues immensely.
