It seems they also think that Marv is the most likely "internet breaking" icon to return in Legacy

I think the returning character will be Uncle Ben.

It's the kind of 'done for nothing more than shock value' cheap shot comics writers love to take these days.

Well.....Uncle Ben coming back would be a major shock to many Spidey fans, but instead of awe I sense great anger.

Same if it were Gwen Stacy, who was originally cloned back to life due to all the backlash from the original being killed.

IF Uncle Ben does come back, how would Aunt May handle it? As I recall isn't she still married to jameson sr., or was that thrown out?

For that matter what would Uncle Ben do? If May is still married he can't live with them, what would he do for money, would he live with Peter, and would Peter tell him he is Spiderman and that it was his fault Ben was shot? Note: Peter had no way to know that Burglar was going to go to his home.

Also I am not certain that Uncle Ben or Gwen Stacy count as "Marvel icons" though the return of either would definitely rattle the internet a bit.

The death of Uncle Ben and Gwen were organic parts of the history of Spiderman that made the character change and evolve.

Mar-Vell dying of cancer in bed showed us that sometimes heroes/people die and there isn't much that can be done about it, and his legacy has inspired some, but overall his death story was a catharsis for Starlin and was part of the deal for Starlin to work on Epic Illustrated and give us Dreadstar. Aside from Carol Danvers, is there any other hero inspired by the legacy of Mar-Vell? I can't think of any. So in taht context perhaps it is time for him to return.
