I realize we are mostly talking superheroes here, but sometimes villains
are killed, only to return decades later.

Kraven committed suicide,He was brought back in 2010. A stupid idea if you ask me.

A lot of villains were killed by Scourge back in the 80s. They were resurrected by The Hood in 2009. Another stupid idea.

Egghead was killed & his ashes thrown into the water. Yet he came back.

I'm happy that Marvel has kept the original Porcupine dead. His death in Captain America # 315 was really touching & to bring him back would ruin that story. Yes,we have a new Porcupine running around, but he's a new guy,not the original.

If Marvel does resurrect Mar-Vell,I won't be too shocked. I will just think it was inevitable.

Kraven's return was a bad idea. making a NEW hunter type character would be the better path.

I think many of the ones revived by the Hood were killed off again by the Punisher. Again, just put new faces in the masks.

Forgot about Egghead returning, I presume the one that perished was an LMD or clone?

Porcupine: yeah I remember him. They passed the suit to another which was fine.

Then of course there is all the times the Red Skull cheated death. After he was defeated when Cap "came back from the dead/time displacement", I think the intent was for him to be truly dead. Then comes a clone of him created in 1943 that was in hibernation for decades who decided to kill mutants and steal the power of Charles Xavier. Here is hoping Captain Stevil did indeed kill him. The Red Skull as a villain is played out and he should be done for good. Yes he is the penultimate ratzi and thus is Cap's arch enemy but enough already. Leave a few legacy plans to carry on in his name but don't revive him again.

Now they did retcon the Skull from the old timely days and stated that the 50's Red Skull was someone else but he was long ago killed by Scourge.

As to Mar-Vell, should be finally be brought back by the cowards at Marvel, that would be a bit of a shocker. Inevitable? No. Given their reluctance to revive him all these years.
