Quote:No Core? Certainly.
Quote:No Four? Eh. Of course, I want the fans to have their guys back, but frankly, I spent most of the past 20 years not caring if they were around or not. At least Ben stuck around. He's the only one I ever cared about. And honestly, this is kind of a cheat for the list. It should be part of the "No Core" thing.
Quote:No Guts? Indeed. I'd have no problem at all with characters like Riri if they had actually done something gutsy in the opening. From the very beginning, Tony Stark was guts! By comparison, Riri's intro just seems halfassed (heck, giving it half is generous). If you want us to love a character this much, then love your creation. I'm really skeptical that Bendis gives a damn about her. She just seems like a gimmick for a newspaper.
Quote:Reboots. They're just a gimmick, but I really don't care one way or the other. It's just numbers on a cover to me, and even covers don't matter to me.
Quote:Retread events? Yup.
Quote:Mutant genocide? Indeed! Stop marginalizing them!
I want them to stay marginalized until they get rid of:
1. Original 5 teens
5. That teen Apocalypse clone thingee
7. Jimmy Hudson
Once they weed out all the clones, derivative characters and time travel aberrations they can come back and be important again.
(and I was kind enough to leave out Bishop and Rachel because I'm such a swell guy)
Quote:Series getting their plugs pulled too soon? Well, that's not really something Marvel can fix. Readers are in control of that. If you want something like Nighthawk to stay, buy it! I know it sucks to lose a title. I was a fan of Ultimates. But oh well.
Quote:Fanamosity? ABSOLUTELY! Marvel seems to like pitting fans against fans more than heroes against heroes.
Quote:Milk It? I'm actually 1000% behind this. I'm no Gwen-anything fan. I don't even like Spider-Gwen. But if readers bite the hook, fish that pond until its dead.
Quote:Marvel does NOT have too many comics, and to suggest they cut back will only hurt them.
Quote:I'm really sick of hearing about "no entry points." They never concerned me when I was getting into comics. More often than not, I would start reading in the middle of story arcs and have to play catch up. And these days, it has never, ever been easier to catch up.
Quote:We don't need a central creative team or book driving the rest of the line. That sort of thing is what ruined Marvel, culminating in that Hickman Avengers horror show. And they don't seem to be able to pick up the pieces from that.
Quote:Event addiction? Sure. But it seems the only way Marvel can pay the bills. Without that routine shot in the arm, sales go down and down and down and...
