Quote:Yeah. I don't like the idea of any of the pantheon gods being around before man's culture. Nor do I like the ethnic diversity of the humans being shown back then.
I see your point. This story contradicts any notion that humanity's belief creates the gods. Incidentally, I never liked that notion. I prefer the MCU theory that the gods are really aliens from outer space or other dimensions. This story aligns with the MCU theory while adding in the Von Daniken "Ancient Astronauts" hypothesis - which is very Marvelicious, of course, given the Kree/Inhumans history and also the Eternals.
Quote:We had an origin for Spirits of Vengeance. They were created after the Flood, so one should not be existing a million years ago.
See? I knew you'd have some continuity thing that I was blissfully ignorant of.
Quote:Not thought provoking at all. Phoenix suddenly seems to like redheads, like the Asian girl in AVX, but the Phoenix shouldn't give a damn. Never used to.
Not just any redhead, I don't think. I interpreted the art as telling us the Phoenix was appearing specifically as Jean Grey.
Quote:My biggest beef is when the Celestials are depicted as stoppable. They should never be stoppable. They should only be trickable.
Mine, as well. And even when they're tricked, everybody should be asking, "Okay. How did we do that?"
Oh! I like that! The Celestials just up and leave for parts unknown, for reasons unknown, although the reader (from the omniscient point of view) would have some inkling as to what happened.
Quote:The intergalactic empire of Wakanda is about the most absurd thing I've ever read.
Except Wakanda is always portrayed as the most technologically sophisticated country on Earth, while also being steeped in warrior ethics, values, and spirituality. I can easily imagine a future where Wakanda conquers first the Earth and then the galaxy. All it needs is, say, an infinity gem.
They're also extreme isolationists, which is the exact opposite of setting up an empire, much less intergalactic one.
Was that the future? I thought it was the present. If it's the future then never mind. Also, if that's another universe, then never mind.
It never occurred to me that it was the present. If it's the present, then reality has been tampered with. Which may be the case, as I think that was Jean Grey on the Avengers statue.
