Ok I'm trying to read some of the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider appearances as well as the Son of Satan stuff.

I'm trying to make sense of who Marvel's Satan is and not quite getting it.

Is the Satan in Marvel Spotlight #5-11 and the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider series not the same Satan that Hellstorm deals with in Marvel Spotlight #12-24 and Son of Satan #1-8?

Marvel's Wikia page implies they're different characters. (and inconsistent on who gets credit for what)
http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Marduk_Kurios_(Earth-616)
http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Lucifer_(Earth-616)
http://marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Mephisto_(Earth-616)

But the one who menaced Daimon and the one who turned Johnny Blaze into Ghost Rider can't be different characters right...because Ghost Rider #2-3 crossed over with Hellstorm's appearance in Marvel Spotlight #12 and were written by Gary Friedrich.

So who was the Satan that appeared in the Marvel Spotlight, Son of Satan and early Ghost Rider appearances?

The Marvel Appendix has a great profile.

We will never have the definitive answer but it gives every theory and which writers were responsible of it.

In Defenders #105, JMDematteis (who else ?) has an interesting theory ("Satan/Marduk", Mephisto,Thog, Satannish are his 4 fathers into 1).
