This is the last issue of IDW ROM comics. However they state it is not the end of IDW ROM. Rather, he will be appearing in the crossover event that is starting up and then apparently a new ROM will arise and then presumably a new series will start.

I'm guessing that the impending "new" ROM will be the same person in the armor but that the armor is getting massive change.

"ROM" is a name, right - not a title? If it's a title, I predict the girlfriend will be the new ROM, because the old one will be dead.

ROM is his name both before and after he became a spaceknight, both in Marvel and IDW.

If his girlfriend somehow does become a new "ROM" I would not buy the book as I am so SICK of this "let's replace the old with a new gender swapped version" a.k.a. SJW nonsense.

I'm all for equality, but to mutilate/destroy a classic character (THOR) just so they can bring in a new version really is getting stupid.

If they want to upgrade the new ROM, adjust his appearance some more and boost his firepower, I'm fine with that. They have shown that their armor can absorb and assimilate things into it, such as the neutralizer, and that it can alter its appearance in accordance with the user's wishes.

Example: the backup story in the IDW issues had ROM and his neutralizer looking a bit more classic then they do in the present day story.

ROM also can remove the metal from his face for a time to show what he looks like.
