Amazing Spider-Man 789 (2017)

This was a good issue. Perfect cover with clever twist on Jonah's classic headline - who knew it would take this long for that twist on it! \:\) Amazing artwork. Decent start to follow through with the end of Parker Industries and the fall of HYDRA. Mockingbird is fun this ish - and is growing on me as enjoyable interim girlfriend for Peter. Neat Easter Egg with her controversial t-shirt. ;\) The Lyman's get fair development for upcoming storylines. The Robbie/Peter confrontation went smartly and satisfyingly. The ASM cast get together at the party had nice nostalgia to it and welcome cameos. Then, to add to the generous amount of scripting there is a well choreographed battle against The Griffin! Johnny Horton gets better character attention he's probably ever gotten in over a decade. The worst character? It was the fickle and wishy washy, grossly uninformed general public of Manhattan. That last page shared drink felt so real you could almost taste the refreshing moment with Bobbi. And the new suggested direction for a Parker-less Spider-man with their last panel kiss seems telling and believable for now.

Hmm..would'nt exactly say the supporting cast made "welcome" cameos when most of them were trashing Peter behind his back...and of course Slotto Blocktavius can't resist character assassinating Mary Jane just a little more. I think she'll factor more in the book later (probably when Tony shows up, since he's in the primer pages), but I'm prepared for the worst with her and Peter. Thank goodness for Renew Your Vows.

Peter and Bobbi's relationship seems so forced and insincere, I'm looking forward to that partnership tanking. I'm a Bobbi/Clint mark and Bendis teased they'd get together again in the future in the Generations: Iron book.

Robbie was way out of step here too.
