I think that David Micheline hasn't done anything in about 3 or 4 years. Bob Layton just does covers.

Stan Lee wouldn't be able to make a deadline.

Joss Whedon, maybe but he would want to probably make more deals with the devil to make more outrageous changes to characters if he stayed on long enough.

I say let Chip Zdarsky or Robbie Thompson take over the title.

J.M. Dematteis solidified the marriage with Kraven's Last Hunt, and has said he believes the marriage will come back eventually, since "it is a good idea and in comics good ideas always come back."

He is also still working and making deadlines, and has a history of good character work for both Pete and MJ.

What about him being to Spider-man what Dan Jurgens was for Superman in Action comics, someone to spend a few years righting the ship so others can set teh course people want.

Of course, I don't believe the marriage will be restored, and I won't buy Spider-Man regularly unless it ism so...
