Besides mediocre writing, the characterization is so COMPLETELY off!

1. Perry thinks Deathstroke is a myth.
Really? The guy lives in a city that's attacked by aliens every other day, and has seen people fly, but he thinks a mask wearing assassin who is hardly extroardinary compared to the majority of super beings running/flying around is a myth? GTFO out of here with that crap.

2. Clark gives Lois a stun weapon but doesn't tell her it's also a signal device.

Okay, it's not so much that Clark gives Lois the weapon as it is that he wasn't honest. You'd think at this point, she'd have something similar to Jimmy's signal watch to alert Clark when there's danger. Why would Clark feel the need to give her a weapon without being honest with her about it's REAL use? Not cool. Not cool at all. Also, what sort of eye was suddenly overprotective Clark keeping on Lois when she was going after a sadistic warlord called "The Grave Maker"?

3.Clark screams at Lois to run when Deathstroke has a gun pointed at her.

It's established that Lois is a twenty minute car ride from home where Clark and Jon are waiting. But instead of rushing into action when Clark realizes that Deathstroke is with Lois, he just screams at her to run? What about earlier in the issue when Lois unwittingly activated a distress signal while she was in Europe and Superman instantly showed up to save her? That's pretty serious super speed there, when you consider that Supes might not have even been in Europe when the signal was activated. And yet he won't fly to Lois' rescue when she's a twenty minute car ride away? With super speed that distance is nothing!

All in all a very disappointing issue, with a promising premise that fell flat.
