I don't care for Cavill playing the Man of Steel. His portrayal has been utterly joyless and insipid the past couple of movies. That being said, Justice League actually uses the role of Superman properly in this movie. The best scene is when Super-English first comes back to life and

...he tussles with the League, and is seen to be clearly stronger than all of them put together. I'm pretty sure Joss Whedon did that scene because it was actually fun. The Flash who has been established can run circles around everyone is unable to do so around Super-English. It's established that the Crumpet of Steel is actually as fast as the Flash at several points in the movie, and actually creates doubt as to who is faster (WHICH IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE). None of this Flash easily running circles around Superman BS that goes on in the comics and cartoons. Honestly, the way Tea-Sipper of Justice is portrayed, he doesn't need the League at all (which is also accurate). Steppenwolf throws around the League for the entire movie until Super-English shows up and then... well, you can guess. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess that was what the movie was building towards. You're simply twiddling your toes until the moment it happens. This is not a movie Joss Whedon would have made had he gotten to write the entire script himself. There's no question much of it is Zack Snyder (but a great deal of what you've seen in past trailers has been cut out).

Also there's a nice shot where Super-English flies through the air carrying a building. Don't see enough of that stuff in superhero movies (or cartoons) anymore. It's a bit of a pity that Darkseid wasn't the bad guy in this film cause now when he does eventually show up everyone who doesn't know comics will accuse DC of copying Thanos when it's the other way around.

Steppenwolf is the ugliest CGI villain since the Scorpion King in Mummy Returns.

I loved the look on Flash's face when Superman's eye starts following him as Flash is running. It was one of those holy shit moments.
