Superman teams up with the greatest hero history will never know; it's the return of Booster Gold and Skeets!
    "Booster Shot" Part One!

This was hard to review given the uncertainty or unbelievability of the "temporal tweaking" that does or does not happen during and/or after this adventure. So, just going to quick reaction to some early-on and censored 0-Day fourchan comments...

Kal seemed to but the writer wasn't kind enough to footnote the adventure. Flash didn't seem to.

I find it difficult to believe Superman is dumb enough to not realize that on Krypton he wouldn't have his powers.
But I guess you can attribute it to him being very emotional at the moment.

Agreed.
Disagree... well... okay, but just to get past "that moment" and move on.

In an old episode of Justice League Unlimited Booster Gold appeared in a story where he gets mistaken for Green Lantern by some people in a humorous scene. That anon is purposely pretending to be exactly like those fictional people and pretending to think Booster Gold is Green Lantern because he thinks doing the exact same thing from a funny scene in a cartoon on this site will also be funny.

That was part of the joke. Booster even mentions that. Part of the comedy comes from that he quite obviously isn't green and those people are acting dumb. The posters you see think it is fun to emulate the actions of those dumb fictional characters because they found them being dumb funny and think it would be funny to act the same way.

It seems like Manhattan has done something about pretty much every time traveller that's not Barry, seeing as no one seems to really remember Booster and Superman didn't even think of the Legion (or the presumably many lectures about not destroying the time stream he's witnessed Brainiac 5 give) before deciding to muck around with time.

And I hope Jurgens mentions Ted somehow so we can learn about that relationship in this wacky continuity.

Superman instantly depowering and then instantly gaining back all his power really depends on the writer. In early, mid and late post crisis, losing his powers under a red sun was a slow, gradual, process. It was not the instant thing it is today. But ever since Geoff Johns wrote Secret Origins, Superman has been instantly depowered if he was exposed to a red sun, then instantly powered up again if he came under the influence of a yellow sun.

I prefer the old way of things, but those days are gone...

As for the issue itself, I found it likeable enough but Superman should have known he'd have no powers on Krypton even before going. So, time traveling to a place where Superman knows he won't have powers was pretty reckless and just a little stupid. He's lucky he didn't get stuck on Krypton minutes before it exploded because then he would have died.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?
