Brian Bendis would destroy all the hard work that has been on Superman for the past year or so.

With respect, while I can appreciate you might not like Bendis based on his past work, this is just pessimistic conjecture. We don't know what Bendis would do with Superman, or any other DC character. He's written one story for DC Comics in his career. And it was published nearly 20 year ago, six pages, an out-of-continuity Elseworlds based on film from 1941, and didn't even remotely feature a Superman-like character.

At this point, I don't think it really is. The best predictor of future performance is recent past performance. For better or worse (that is the only subjective part), what Bendis does is destroy things done on the series he takes over.

When he took over Avengers, he destroyed what came before.
When he took over Guardians of the Galaxy, he destroyed what came before.
Thankfully, there were alternative X-Men that kept the destruction to a minimum in this case.

It only stands to reason that whatever DC series he gets, he WILL destroy what came before if he's given enough control.
