    Yeah, Jim Lee is fan favorite (and corporate honcho), but this is phoned in generic garbage. It's supposed to convey a classic optimistic look, but instead Superman just looks. . .creepy, squat and neckless. Those short little boots and the anatomy is just off.

It's certainly not the Superman he's drawn previously no, I have a strong feeling the intention is to be celebratory however, and that this image is an attempt to honour that intention and therefore style itself as an image to evoke the more 'solid' and traditionalist style of years gone by for Superman... It's just a specially commissioned image, that is all. Don't read so very much into it, or the thinking that might or might not be behind it. \(yes\)
