Subj: It's a GREAT proposal and a shame that it didn't happen.

While I like some of the ideas, I don't like some of the others.

But, Lex and Brainiac telling the world is Clark Kent would have been an interesting story (much more interesting than Lois telling the world Superman is Clark). But I don't like what would have come after that...

Honestly, I'm glad this proposal never happened.

The Loeb/Kelly era, IMO, was basically terrible and unorganized CRAP.

This is a beautiful and well-considered proposal. (And a joy for admirers of the Maggin novels and Bronze Age).

The run that could-have-been is self-evidently much, MUCH, better than Loeb/Kelly.

There was NO GOOD reason to turn down super-stars who had such earnest desire to do great work for years and generate sales. IIRC, they were dismissed for purely political reasons. Carlin didn't like anyone questioning or undoing any aspect of the Byrne revamp thru Jurgens/Death era; to which they showed great deference to.

Very petty and short-sighted. It robbed us of one of the great runs.

As much as I like Kingdom Come, All Star Superman, and Superman Adventures (read Millar's run!), I have a feeling that the synergy of this comic run would have been EVEN BETTER. It would have been the right creators at the right time. Damn shame.
