Reply Subj: I'm really not sure if this is a good thing...more on Taika Waititi's inspiration for Thor 3.

"I loved the kind of cosmic trippy vibe of the Thor comics. Another influence for me was Flash Gordon. I grew up loving that movie. … I’ve often said if Freddie Mercury were alive, I would have asked Queen to do the soundtrack. It just has that feel: it’s a cool bold, colorful cosmic adventure. And it just needed to be fun."--- Taika Waititi

First of all, the Thor comics was never a "cosmic trippy vibe".

Second, Flash Gordon??? We are on full campy mode now Thor fans.

I disagree, the Kirby Thor run had plenty of trippy visuals. Not Doctor Strange levels, but still. I get the feeling that Jack relished Thor, because he could show off awesome triply visuals that only his Fantastic Four run could match at the time. I think it seems very appropriate to have the movie shaped by Jack Kirby's art considering that this would be his 100th birthday.
