I am not really familiar with Thor comics from around this era and I am far more familiar with Eric Masterson as Thunderstrike.

So, would someone please fill me in on why Eric Masterson for a time was called Thor. I know he wielded Mjolnir for a while, but why was he addressed as Thor? Did Thor willingly give him the name? Did other people know he wasn't Thor? Was it a matter of convenience due to not having a better name?

Yes, he was called Thor. For a bit folks did not know but Thor's friends knew. He talked more like a normal person and less shakespear speak.

It was a good run that you should look into. I need to read it again myself.
