I think the movie has done and continues to do fairly well considering its competition. For all practical purposes, Thor Ragnarok has buried Justice League, not that Justice League has done all that bad, but considering expectations, it has bombed.

Justice League did pretty badly given its cost. Including marketing costs, Justice League cost $400 million to make. It had to make roughly double that to break even (since theaters take have the gross). It'll probably end up making about $660 million for a $140 million loss that will be alleviated somewhat by merchandising, dvds, and ancillary cable/streaming rights.

Thor Ragnarok is poised to pass Star Wars III. Regarding GOTG2, Thor Ragnarok only is $20M behind not counting last night. This surprises me a bit because Thor Ragnarok was so much better than GOTG2. But then again, GOTG2 didn't have much competition.

Optimistically, Thor: Ragnarok might get to $860 million, but that would still just fall short of Guardians 2's $863.6 million. Ragnarok has a chance of grossing above the first Iron Man's $318 million domestically though, not accounting for inflation.
