Quote:Jane was with Keith Kincaid because of Odin's meddling.
Odin didn't force Jane to marry and have a child with Kincaid. Odin simply removed personal memories of Blake/Thor from Jane allowing her to have a normal life.
Quote:Odin deliberately gave her more power than she could handle,
He gave her the power of an immortal...its a reverse of the 'hero abandons their power' to live a normal life trope.
Quote:forced her to fight monsters unlike anything she'd ever seen,
How many Thor villains had Jane encountered up to that point?
I think the point of that scenario was actually to show to Thor that Jane was unworthy, obviously Odin must have known she wasn't all along.
Quote:and then when she failed he wiped her memory so she had no idea who she what had happened.
To allow her to have a normal life from that point onward.
Quote:Odin hated his son's fascination with earth and his loyalty to a mortal and Odin's spiteful actions led Jane down a path that she would not have been on had he not screwed with her mind.
(IMO) Odin was always trying to spare his son the heartache of watching Jane grow old and die...a theme explored in the first Highlander movie.
Quote:Actually, looking at it honestly, she deserved a real shot at godly power.
Based on what?
Even assuming she loved Thor (and remember she originally flip-flopped between loving Blake and Thor), taking the later stories into account she showed disloyalty to her actual husband (Kincaid) and irresponsibility and selfishness in abandoning her son (Jimmy).
Quote:Not forced on her by Odin, but decreed by necessity and fate.
If Aaron resolved his run by showing Jane was NEVER worthy and her scheming (against Thor and Odin) was all part of an elaborate plot to get back at Odin and Thor for her life then I'd forgive him everything and buy every issue.
You address Omnipotence...tread carefully.
