Quote:He also seems to indicate that THOR will be evolving or being "reinvented" again in these Avengers movies
Well, that kind of indicates that THOR isn't dying but then again death is IRRELEVANT when the Infinity Gauntlet is involved.
Quote:Also the Gauntlet could easily warp time and reality to restore a YOUNG Odin (Hopkins has indicated he doesn't want to play the part again), Asgard and all that perished in THOR 2 and 3, and keep Hela and Surtur dead thus negating Ragnarok.
Quote:However if that does not occur, I could still see THOR being a guardian of one of the infinity stones after the war. The space gem could be used to transport his people to a new Asgard, the Reality Gem could RESTORE Asgard, so could the Time Gem, but I suspect if THOR does guard or wield a gem it will be the POWER Gem. imagine his vast power as the GOD OF THUNDER augmented by the power gem!
Marvel's overriding concern will be to leave as many of their properties in a position of possible continuance, whilst making some sacrifices for a necessarily dramatic narrative (i.e. some deaths).
Also, with many of the actors reaching their twilight in their respective franchises I'd expect a certain amount of reinvention, and with the current trend of white male emasculation I'd expect some of the biggest hitters to be 'reinvented'. This might be made possible by ownership of the various gems and them bestowing powers on their owners, whomever they might happen to be. Fortunately, with MCU Thor continuing as Thor even sans mjolnir (bar flight and various other powers denied to MCU Thor) I don't think he'll suffer unduly as he is in the book.
I think the image of him between those circular pillars is mjolnir being reforged.
I would like to see a King Thor story with him on throne with infinity stone and one of his children claiming the Thor wielder of Mjolnir mantel. Maybe Magni or Thorir either would be fine and see the Wrecking Crew or Bloodaxe, there are many stories to explore and you folks here have such great thoughts on them.
