Mighty Thor 704

We all knew Jane would pick up the Hammer one more (one last?) time to face off with Mangog. The cover teases as much. This issue pretty much coasts as readers have to wait 20 pages for that to happen. Oh, there's Odin & Son vs Mangog as they exchanged a lot of visceral smashes and bardic banter. Loki shared some poignant recap with Freya and she shares a bitchsap. And, Jane continued to endure the heartwrenching trauma of chemo care in the hospital withher motivational flashbacks that helped shape her belief system. Not a bad issue and the art was GORGEOUS - but really it felt like coasting. Ironic - as Mangog is riding Asgardia into the heart of the sun!

Support Cancer Research and Alzheimer Research.

I noticed Mangog makes the comment that neither father or son are what they once were but I do not know exactly what context he refers. Odin makes a comment about not giving into fear. I do not know if that is a clue something else is going on not evident(Cul?) or just a throwaway line. Odin sounds tough but it doesn't help him in the battle.
Jane also has a line that many here will not like. Her backstory includes throwing in what is apparently an out of the blue history on her husband and sons fate. I may have simply not seen it due to not following the book for the most part. I am not sure what Aaron is trying to convey but to me it makes her seriously unworthy. Watching her mother die from cancer should make her more than happy to accept any cure magically or otherwise. there must be another shoe to drop plot wise. When everything is done I think Asgardia is completely destroyed while everybody ends up back on Asgard though Mangog demolished the area it is still there-I think.
