I bought some back issues quite a while ago. I remember the one that I got had Thor almost killing Beta Ray. I'm mostly interested in this because I know that Thanos and Odin face-off. The story seems cool (Thor going all-out.), but the art seems pretty hard to get past. What issue did him and The Super-Skrull have their fight? Didn't this whole thing get tied to Odin in the end? This sounds really epic, and it was by Jim Starlin, but it's not considered a classic. From what I read, opinion was kind of divided on it. Are there any standout Issues? Thanks.

To answer your questions:

Thor fought Super-Skrull in issue #465.

Yes everything climaxed with Thanos squaring off against Odin at the end of the story.

Not a classic depends on whom you ask. I enjoyed it personally. It's a hell of a lot better than anything Thor written recently.

Hmmm....stand out issues were Thor vs. Beta Ray Bill #461.

Thor vs. Ares and Pluto together #462. They both attempt to start a Asgard vs. Olympus war by going after a warrior madness Thor.

Thor goes up against a re-incarnated Drax the Destroyer with the power gem to a standstill. I'd have to look up what issue that took place in (I believe in Infinity Crusade) . Art wasn't great but it shows off Thor's might deep in space.

Thor battles Silver Surfer and Beta Ray Bill in Surfer #86

Thor battles SS and Warlock in Warlock Chronicles #6 I believe.

Thor (with Power Gem) battles Thanos in SS #88

Odin vs. Thanos (I believe Warlock and the Infinity Watch 25).

The only problem I had with the story was all of the cross-over issues (story was decompressed), Asgard not going to war with Olympus, and to a lesser degree the art in some issues.
