That's a good list. Of those you mentioned, Gus Fring is my favorite by a long shot. I actually started rooting more for Gus than for Walt during that season. When he eliminated the entire freaking cartel, I was in absolute awe. It made Walter look like a lucky amateur (which is how Mike always perceived him, relative to Gus).

Gus was my favorite Breaking Bad character as well. Gus returned (er arrived) to Better Call Saul last an episode so boring that I thought watching paint dry would be more fulfilling.

Mads' Hannibal Lecter was also a tour de force. What an amazing show that was. I really hope we can see another season of that, someday. The intriguing cliff hanger is just too delicious to leave dangling forever.

I loved how he played the character. I got the vibe his character wasn't troubled. He genuinely enjoyed what he was doing and was completely at peace with himself. He played the devil on Will's shoulder in an attempt to make Will some kind of Übermensch beyond the constraints of good and evil. He played Hannibal more like a Faustian demon than a nutjob serial killer.

One more, missing from your list - Freddie Highmore's Norman Bates. A very humanizing performance, and Highmore's acting has been Emmy-worthy for the last three seasons. It's also a surprisingly sympathetic portrayal of mental illness.

I watch the show. Mostly for Norma. Before she died I really thought of the show as her show...a show with the lead dealing with a child with a mental illness more so than it being an homage to Psycho. I miss the real Norma.
