WAAAHHHH!! I had tears in my eyes at the end. Damn you Rucka!! Is this his last issue, I hope not. Masterfully done. The only part that irks me is that now we are going to show some empathy to Veronica Cale. Can't we keep one villain to pummel?!?!
First thing, was it just me or was Ares darn like Prime Minister Trudeau for a page or two? Weird, but welcome if so. lol
War bound by love! Awww. Of course Aphrodite had no fear. She was Ares consort, be him children. Who else could handle it.
I did laugh out loud at Veronica's line about gods and adolescent women. *snicker* Nope, never works out for the woman.
And I loved the 'new' truth of the pantheon...gods don't kill gods. A welcome respite from what Azz was pulling.
Diana is a special kind of amazon. To know Phobos and Deimos and still love them. A little different take from when her and Batman dealt with them last time ( great storyline). I can like a lot of people, love? VERY few. Especially, after you have wronged me.
So is Hippy the daughter of Ares? They really don't get into patriarchal ties do them...Hippy's nor Diiana's. Trying to remember if the amazons were made from the ether or reimagined sould of women killed by men. Hmmmm Again, how is it to know that you can be killed by a god and your patrons will just stand there and let it happen, and not do anything against the perpetrator ( gods don't kills gods).
Now is Cale going to become a worse enemy now that she has lost her daughter for ever, even though Isadora is happy and whole. Will she resent Diana even more now that her daughter is an adopted amazon who will learn/live by the ideals that Cale thinks are ridiculous?
Diana and her mom. BALLING!! How heartbreaking was that?!?! To be told a lie by your patrons, to learn the truth in such a manner. And then you can't even hold your mommy. Your (fr)enemy's daughter gets the life that you want. OUCH!!
But leave it to Diana. When the twins are bound in a more permanent manner, maybe she can return home then. Though where is Eris...that little trouble maker is probably wondering around as well. Now that her brothers are taken care of....she can have daddy's power all to herself.
WOW Rucka!! Took you a long time to get to it.....but very satisfying.
