...like when we have about 1 female superhero for every 5 male superheroes on screen for almost every movie, or when we don't have female action figures on the shelves for girls who'd want to play with female superheroes, or when only about 29% of all Hollywood movies have female protagonists, or the disproportionately huge pay gap between male a female Hollywood stars.
But sure, let's focus on the true problem of having a handful of Alamo Drafthouse showings for all women for a movie about a female protagonist that has been all about female empowerment since the 1940s. Sure, that's the true culprit that men have to go to ANOTHER movie theater or wait approximately 20 minutes for ANOTHER showing of the same damn movie to watch it.
That's the real problem. Inconvenience of men for a piece of entertainment. That's the true inequality here.
Again, tons of other showings by the same movie place around the same time. Why crap on a company having showings for just women? It isn't about you. It's for them.
I've been in several targets and let's see...wonder woman, supergirl, bumblebee (nobody is buying her why not), Harley Quinn, poison ivy, and batgirl. Now let me check the "action figures"...Scarlett witch, Sharon Carter, mockingbird, jeez do they have any male heroes? Hmmmm let me look past the female Ghostbusters toys that nobody bought. Female wolverine? Hey look it's a cheap captain America toy. Guess we gotta go to diamond select for quality.
The pay gap in Hollywood has to do with the draw. Scarlett Johansson made more than any female in the avengers movies. Back in the late 80's and early 90's Arnold Schwarzenegger made money because of his draw. The reason Meryl Streep does not get 20 million per movie is simple. Her movies do not bring in the big bucks. Look at the top ten every year. Super heroes and cartoons make the money. Chris Pratt's earning potential went up because of guardians and Jurassic park.
