It's sexist. But it's also stupid to get upset about it.

We all deal with minor things every day that are sexist, racist etc. Because they're not always important enough to create a controversy over.

Yes it's sexist. Yes it's dumb to complain about it. Because as soon as you complain about it you're the sexist bad guy.

It's like one of those issues where blacks want something renamed because so and so white person was racist. I don't have a problem with Princeton having buildings named after president Woodrow Wilson. But some people do. You can't reason with them so just let them have their way. Or you will end up with your local CVS that serves the community burned down or something. You can't reason with SJW people...they'll just start riots and burn sh*t down. (and I'm lumping white SJW people in that as well...they're dying to feel disenfranchised)

I totally get the reason why they would want to rename the Woodrow Wilson building. If I was going to that school, it can be really distracting to know and to be trained to know the problems with racism in society in the same building that is named after a racist. These were students complaining, and they have every right to complain and to have the university consider something else. I feel like they didn't go far enough. If the University knew that these kids were going to stop going to their school...that they were dropping out of Princeton for their priniciple...then I think they would've caved rather than just giving this strange and augmented plaque that vaguely addresses the issue of Wilson's racism.

It is a fair in a free and just society to be able to protest and point out problems with culture, at large. And I think your characterization of black people as people who will burn down buildings and destroy neighborhoods as racist and close-minded. I still think there's such a thing as good judgement and common sense in these matters. Men complaining about not being able to watch Wonder Woman in an all-female showing is not the same as groups of people protesting racial profiling and police violence in their communities or students protesting their prestigious university valorizing Wilson by naming a building after him when he used his position to segregate and promote racist policies.
